Description:
Surgeries that remove or disconnect a temporal lobe, including hemispheric surgeries, TPO disconnections, as well as corpus callosotomies, results in auditory processing challenges. These challenges can vary from child-to-child and may impact their ability to learn in school.
In this session, Amanda Levy, Au.D., clinical and educational audiologist, and parent to a child who had hemispherectomy, Daphne Magdaleno, discuss the importance of audiology assessments for children after certain epilepsy surgeries and the impact of central auditory processing disorders in school.
